A Little Bit About Me
I am a fairly grounded person who is hard working and learning. I am a keen reader and like philosophy and like to analyse the metaphysical aspect of life. Although I have an inquisitive mind, I am grounded and a firm believer in god. I consider myself as a practicing muslim but to a hardline (long bearded folkes) I may not fit their description of a religious person. I always pray (specially fajr, maghrib and esha).
I like to reflect on my behaviour and I do my best to be humble and kind. Saying this, I do like the finer things in life ( this has been interpreted as being shallow) but rest assure I am not shallow nor snobbish. I like the cultural and theological aspect of islam.
I dislike people who are not team players and maybe those who will use you to get what they want. I like keeping fit, so I will make sure that I run weekly for upto 10 miles. I like cycling too. I enjoy trekking and driving adventures. My best one so far is the west coast of Scotland.
I can be perceived as being quiet but within the right setting I open up and become very chatty. I do like meaningful conversation and tend to switch off when its all ‘hot smoke’
My best day out will be exploring the galleries and museums. I do like steam train (so does my 5 year old boy) so, I tend to plan steam journeys with him. The science museums is also a regular spot for us at weekends or we will just cycle to local park ( Greenwich park is nice or Rickmond park my favourite escape.
I have been described as borderline ocd but I feel like I just don’t like clutter. I like a messy desk but a very minimalist setting. I like cooking and experimenting. I enjoy bread making, pizza and other pastries. I never buy birthday cakes. I also like DIY and to enjoy looking at a nice garden. I only go into the garden to tidy up and head back inside.
I am April born and told that I have the qualities of an Aries (don’t believe in astrology). I try and avoid confrontation (which has been my downfall in some circumstances). I can be a crowd pleaser but again I am striving to change this.
Deep down I can be a bit of a romantic, my music preference : I like classical tchaikovski, innaudi, Hans Zimmer are my favourite. Also like Sami Yusuf and Nusrat fateh ali khan.
Sports: tennis and F1 racing (highlights)
Food: I’ll try all good food – I don’t like English breakfast but will always go for croissant or pancake.
I used to roller/ice skate in my younger years. Will definitely get back into it if and when my son is interested.
My favourite book : Candide or Optimism by Voltaire and Man and Superman amongst others.
