A Little Bit About Me
I hope you are well and in good health
My name is Esteban. I know it doesn’t sound very muslim so I guess some details would be welcomed: I’m a French student and al hamdulilah I converted to islam 6 years ago after a long spiritual journey.
I’ve just started a PhD (fully funded and I have a salary) on cancer research in London. Before that I did a MSc in computational biology and a engineer degree in computer science. I am passionate and ambitious about my work and dream of making the world better.
I don’t really know how to describe myself but I can say that I am sometimes compared to a unicorn: positive, innocent, gentle, good listener, supportive, easy going but also responsible. I also tend to be a bit shy at first, much less after I know the person better.
Umar ibn Al-Khattab said “A man should be like a child with his wife, but if she needs him, he should act like a man.” and this is what I would try to live by.
Apparently I’m funny, although it’s not always on purpose, I just have a weird mind :)
Hobbies include: reading, sports (mostly gym), watching movies/series/documentaries, spending time with friends, long walks in nature.
Islam is very important to me. I’ve been given the chance to see it from the outside, which is a blessing. I pray 5 times a day, perform my religious duties and try my best to maximise my good deeds while minimising my sins. I’m also eager to learn more about islam, so I regularly read, listen to conferences,… I recently started to learn arabic and tajweed.
I want to learn my deen together with my wife so that we can help and support each other in order to become better muslims.
What I Am Looking For
I think that choosing a life partner is different than choosing a new TV, therefore I won’t go with the typical shopping list of criteria and I’ll try to be a bit more poetic.
My model of a good relationship would be the one between our Prophet sws and Khadija. Despite their differences, they sticked together in the worst and best times, and had a common goal that they wanted to accomplish together. In addition they both had the most excellent characters.
Therefore I believe the most important things are how we can connect to each other and what objectives we can set together on this long journey. I would like a wife who would help me become a better person and would be a good model for our kids, and the same would apply to me.
Hence, I would like to marry somebody religious and educated, modest and with a good character as I think it would be easier to connect.
If you think there can be compatibility, feel free to drop a message ;)
In any case, may Allah grant us all a good and virtuous spouse
Ps: Sorry but I'm only looking for someone in the UK or France so if that's not the case, please don't message me and may Allah grant you the best in your search
