An English professor wrote the words, “Woman without her man is nothing” on the blackboard and directed his students to punctuate it correctly.

The men wrote: “Woman, without her man, is nothing.”

The women wrote: “Woman: Without her, man is nothing.”

I am looking for the lady who in 50 years from now I will look upon with the same love, affection and attraction I had the day I asked her to marry me.

A little about myself...I am a laid-back guy, quietly confident and self-assured - it reflects in my humour which can be quite dry and sarcastic. I know it is a paradox but I can also be bold, spontaneous and romantic.

An optimist but realist.

Having trouble figuring me out? Read on as you will soon realise that the usual labels do not apply to me.

I am passionate about justice which is why I chose my career although I am now a self-employed commercial and residential landlord.

I am intelligent but it is irrelevant as wisdom is more important and that is a lifelong lesson (just like learning about a woman one is with).

However, what is inferred is more powerful than what is stated.

I am of Indian and Pakistani heritage but born, bred and privately educated in England.

To those to whom it matters I am Sayyid (Bukhari) through my father.

I love travelling and have been to Sao Paolo in Brazil (whose relaxed atmosphere made it my favourite), Karachi and Quetta in Pakistan (to discover my roots), Kuwait, Dubai, Paris, Tunisia and Egypt to name a few as well as all over the USA.

Musically I am into The Killers, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Oasis, Pulp, Ash, Daft Punk, The Chemical Brothers, River, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, David Bowie, The Smiths, The Arctic Monkeys, The Wombats, The Vaccines, Phantom Planet, Ida Maria, Hole, Plan B, Meat Loaf, Bonnie Tyler, Alanis Morissette, Suede, Birdy, Rammstein, Slipknot, Kasabian, some R'n B and Hip-hop like Jay-Z, Ja Rule, Tupac, DMX, Kanye West, Ashanti, Aaliyah, Mary J. Blige, Rihanna and Beyonce, reggae (Bob Marley and modern), Classical (Wagner, Beethoven, Bach, Mozart and Rachmaninoff) and Opera (especially Swan Lake, Aida and The Marriage of Figaro).

My favourite films are Fight Club, Before Sunrise, Gattaca, Goodfellas, Casino, The Godfather 1 and 2, The Lord of The Rings trilogy, Cruel Intentions, A Life Less Ordinary, The Talented Mr. Ripley and The Shawshank Redemption. Actors I like are Ed Norton, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Matt Damon, George Clooney, Brad Pitt and actresses Tilda Swinton, Rachel Weisz, Kate Winslet and Angelina (my mother's name) Jolie.

I like plays like Popcorn and Closer and musicals such as Miss Saigon and Phantom of the Opera.

Comedians I like are Chris Rock, Omid Djalili and Russell Peters.

Literature wise I am into historical novels (Tudor period), autobiographies (especially Stephen Fry, Clive James and Roald Dahl), biographies and novels by Stephen Fry, Ben Elton, Paulo Coelho and Dan Brown.

I have decided against presenting myself in the traditional way because I have no idea what is relevant to you. I feel these things should be learnt naturally. Besides I would not wish to rob you of the feelings of anticipation, discovery and an opportunity to employ your female perspicacity.
